Wonderware Enhances ActiveFactory Data Analysis and Reporting Software Upgraded to Improve Web-Based Reporting and Support for Wonderware Industrial Tablets

LAKE FOREST, Calif., July 8, 2004 - Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys Systems, Inc., today announced the latest release of its popular ActiveFactory data analysis and reporting software for the IndustrialSQL Server real-time plant historian. ActiveFactory 8.5 clients offer sophisticated real-time and historical plant analysis tools, as well as Web-based reporting capabilities.

"ActiveFactory software excels at delivering real-time and historical data to plant decision makers," said Jim Frider, product marketing manager for Wonderware's plant intelligence products. "This release extends support to Wonderware's new Industrial Tablets, allowing mobile workers to view real-time data anywhere on the plant floor."

ActiveFactory 8.5 software includes a component for Wonderware's SuiteVoyager portal software, providing enhanced displays to illustrate trend data and reports over the Web. The SuiteVoyager real-time plant information portal provides access to plant information and content anywhere at any time. It also offers improved configuration capabilities that enable SuiteVoyager users to receive customized reports and trends from ActiveFactory clients.

"The ActiveFactory software's new capabilities enhance the SuiteVoyager portal's ability to deliver information to the right person, in the right context, at the right time, facilitating continuous plant improvement initiatives," Frider said. "The ActiveFactory software's powerful ability to publish interactive reports to the Web via the SuiteVoyager portal means that users can quickly create ad-hoc reports simply by selecting a new time period or tag selection without spending a large amount of time configuring reports."

SuiteVoyager software gives customers the information they need to make better business decisions while enabling central administration, improving efficiency and providing fast ROI.

In addition, ActiveFactory 8.5 software extends to support Wonderware's new Industrial Tablets, allowing mobile workers to view real-time data anywhere on the plant floor.

Version 8.5 also supports the Microsoft Office 2003 set of integrated productivity software tools. Wonderware delivers the latest in Microsoft technologies to the plant floor to empower better plant decisions.

"ActiveFactory software leverages our customer's Microsoft Office software skills by providing Microsoft Excel and Word add-ins that allow non-technical users to quickly create rich plant reports - there is less to learn and results are gained faster," Frider said.

By supplying real-time plant data to anyone in the enterprise who needs it, ActiveFactory clients, in conjunction with other Wonderware products, facilitate plant intelligence. As a key component of Wonderware's modular and sustainable plant intelligence strategy, ActiveFactory software disseminates information across a network, corporate intranet or the Internet. ActiveFactory clients provide data trend analysis, database querying, numerical data analysis using Microsoft Excel, comprehensive data reporting using Microsoft Word, and ad-hoc access to historical and real-time plant information.

As part of Wonderware's commitment to helping customers "visualize, analyze, optimize" plant information, ActiveFactory software helps plant personnel visualize plant data with trend plots, analyze the resulting information with analysis clients, and use the resulting plant intelligence to optimize plant operations.
