SYSPRO Announces SYSPRO Office Integration



COSTA MESA, Calif. - June 19, 2007 - SYSPRO, a leading producer of enterprise software, has announced SYSPRO Office Integration (SOI), a new functionality that enables any user in the enterprise to securely access information directly from the SYSPRO database when working within a Microsoft Office product such as Word or Excel. The accessed information can also be inserted into a current document either as simple text or as a table. Integration with Outlook allows automatic posting of emails as activities against contacts. Alternatively, the user can manually select emails to be integrated. Synchronization with the Outlook calendar is seamless and transparent to the user. SOI allows users to define the SYSPRO information that is displayed within the Office application. In addition to contact details, information access also extends to invoices and inventory. Commensurately, the administrator can prevent users from accessing sensitive information by applying 'roles' to operators.

SOI uses secure Web services to communicate between the Office product and the SYSPRO application server. This means that users can access SYSPRO information remotely and in a secure manner. Because SOI is a stand-alone module, it can be used to provide external trading partners with real-time access to relevant information.

SOI was developed using standard Microsoft technology (Visual Studio Tools for Office) and SYSPRO business objects to deliver a state-of-the-art office integration module. SOI uses SYSPRO e.net solutions XML schemas to derive the SYSPRO data. Therefore, the data is protected using SYSPRO security rules and the information returned can be configured as required.

SOI currently works with Microsoft Word and Excel (Office 2003 upwards) and is only available in a Windows environment.
