Data I/O(R) Corporation Announces Launch of the Electronic Device Support Suite (eDSS) Development Kit

REDMOND, Wash., Nov. 9 -- Data I/O(R) Corporation (NASDAQ:DAIO) , the world's leading provider of programming solutions, today announces the market launch of the electronic Device Support Suite (eDSS) development kit.

The eDSS is a Web-based software application for remote FlashCORE(TM) algorithm development. The eDSS development kit includes access to a large database of new and existing device algorithms and a developer tool kit designed for implementing new or derivative electronic devices on Data I/O's FlashCORE-based programming systems.

Algorithm support for programmable devices is an important, time-critical process in consumer electronic products. Programmable device suppliers -- such as Semiconductor vendors and Programming centers, or Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Original Equipment/Design Manufacturers (OEM/ODM) -- require a level of device support which complements their rapid product development methodologies. The eDSS enables development engineers to achieve first article build for product testing within minutes rather than weeks. Users soon realize the fast track to product release with their code being proven at the engineer's site, thus eliminating complex product verification logistics.

"The eDSS Web-based software represents an industry direction change in the way programmable device algorithms are developed for consumer products," said Mark Briant, Senior Product Manager for Data I/O Corporation. "The eDSS gives development engineers the ability to manage the software supply chain, where fast device support means product development cycles are significantly reduced," he continued. "Data I/O again takes the lead in innovation and is the only programming equipment supplier to offer this level of product and support."

The eDSS tools prepare algorithm executables for debugging and release, producing algorithm and database files that are compatible with existing Data I/O TaskLink(TM) and FlashCORE products. The eDSS supports current device technologies supported by FlashCORE, and accepts algorithm source code files as an input which produce job card files for testing algorithms.

The eDSS has been designed with an easy to use environment, with a modern look and feel. The quick installation and low learning curve are backed with comprehensive online documentation, training materials and videos. User and group administration screens provide developer, quality assurance and administrator process roles.
