SecuGen Releases New Fingerprint Login Method for Strong Authentication to Novell's eDirectory Through NMAS

SecuGen's Modular Design Makes It Quick and Easy to Implement Fingerprint Authentication to Secure Critical Network Resources

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 21 - SecuGen is pleased to announce the release of its new SecuGen Enterprise NMAS Login Method v2.0 software and its partnership with Novell as a Novell Silver Technology Partner.

As a Novell Silver Technology Partner, SecuGen has developed a fingerprint authentication method that works with an organization's existing Novell infrastructure. The SecuGen Enterprise NMAS Method v2.0 is a powerful fingerprint login method that works through NMAS (Novell Modular Authentication Service), allowing users to authenticate themselves to eDirectory with their fingerprints.

"Biometrics has become a mainstream solution to one of the most problematic areas of network security: authentication. A great advantage of using fingerprint authentication is that an organization can be sure their users are who they say they are, especially when trying to access sensitive and vulnerable resources. A fingerprint cannot be lost, stolen, or forgotten," says SecuGen Vice President of Software Development, Dan Riley. "Our partnership with Novell and integration with NMAS makes implementing fingerprint authentication with SecuGen technology easier than ever before."

Additional benefits of using SecuGen's fingerprint method include:

-- Convenience of logging in with fingerprints through SecuGen's user-friendly interface
-- More secure protection than with passwords alone
-- Reduced administrative overhead caused by password resets. Fingerprints are unique and do not need to be memorized.
-- Ease of combining with other methods for multi-factor authentication
-- High level of accuracy and reliability thanks to SecuGen's years of refinement to fingerprint sensors and algorithms
-- Seamless integration with existing Novell infrastructure without the hassle of development or coding
-- No need to train administrators because it uses the same management tools provided by Novell
-- Scalability and extensibility to fit organizations of all sizes

The modular nature of NMAS makes it extremely easy to add SecuGen's fingerprint logon functionality without having to replace any existing software or learn complicated new procedures. Used with SecuGen's world-renowned highly durable fingerprint readers, the SecuGen method is a cost-effective solution that can be quickly implemented without complex software installs or added downtime.

The SecuGen Method is sold as a Starter Pack containing server and client software plus ten user licenses. Additional client licenses and fingerprint readers are sold separately.
