Original Press Release:

AutoAAP(TM) 9.0 Software Complies with Federal Affirmative Action Reporting and Frees Time

Biddle Consulting Group announces the release of AutoAAP(TM) 9.0 the latest in affirmative action plan development software. AutoAAP(TM) is very sophisticated, easy to use, and brings companies into full compliance with the federal affirmative action requirements. Designed for organizations with small to large scale planning needs, it utilizes a one-of-a-kind plan development engine within the program which makes it beneficial for the manufacturing industry.

An Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) details the steps to be taken, the impact of those steps on achieving full equal employment opportunity, and the steps that will be taken in the near future.

"Organizations with 50 or more employees and $50,000 or more in federal government contracts or subcontracts are required by federal regulations to have a written affirmative action plan," said Patrick Nooren, Executive Vice-President for Biddle. Noncompliance with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) affirmative action regulations can result in sanction and penalties.

Affirmative action plans promote self-audit. They help employers identify areas of underutilization for women and minorities; as well as identify potential problem areas in hiring, promotions, and terminations. Armed with this knowledge, employers can establish specific action-oriented programs that will seek to rectify the identified problem areas.

The AutoAAP(TM) 9.0 system has been completely redesigned to specifically address the needs of the larger, multiple plan employers while streamlining the development process for all users. Frank Quevedo, Vice President of Southern California Edison, says, "Biddle Consulting Group has provided Southern California Edison Company with a quality work product supporting us in the areas of affirmative action planning, compensation analysis, and other important issues facing most large companies today. Biddle has provided quality analysis concerning pay equity, adverse impact, and other related matters..."

AutoAAP(TM) 9.0 is a unique software system that includes the entire 1990 census data file and allows manipulation of that data to accurately reflect a company's job classifications and provides the ability to calculate an employee or applicant residence analysis (i.e., ZIP code analysis) to identify the true local recruiting area. The program requires the user to import just one set of master databases in order to complete all of the needed AAP's and allows the user to set goals and track progress throughout the year. In addition, it generates both exact statistical and practical significance tests, which provide the contractor with an additional layer of protection from the OFCCP.

AutoAAP(TM) 9.0 exports a completed narrative for every plan to MS Word with embedded comments to guide the user through the process of modifying the text to address their organization-specific needs. Kevin Lundgren, VP of HR of Tartan Textile Services, Inc. comments, "...With the help of Biddle, we created 15 Plans from data held on a propriety payroll system."

With AutoAAP(TM) 9.0, companies large and small can now standardize their processes and centralize the development of their AAP's within a single operating unit-allowing human resource personnel to focus on their company's core competencies.

Developing a compliant AAP Plan is a difficult and time-consuming process. Plans that once took months can now be completed in more timely manner with AutoAAP(TM) 9.0. "With no prior experience in preparing an Affirmative Action Program, our team was able to accomplish our goal through the use of AutoAAP(TM) 9.0 over the course of several weeks. The application was user friendly...," says Gail Allen, HR Business Analyst of Vision Service Plan.

OFCCP's new EO Survey, which alone can take employers over 50 hours to complete, can be completed in a matter of minutes.

Time is not the only benefit. Recent changes to the regulations have rendered Plans developed just last year out-of-date. AutoAAP(TM) 9.0 addresses the new regulations, and with constant updates can help to keep an employer's AAP Plan in-line with any additional changes.
