Software Development Kit fosters spectrodensitometer interfacing.

Press Release Summary:

Software Development Kit (SDK) for handheld FD-5 and FD-7 spectrodensitometers, allows third-party software developers and integrators to interface their software with FD device. Developers can incorporate measurements that directly correspond to ISO 13655.2 guidelines, and measurements can be taken under multiple illuminants, such as M0, M1, M2, and user-defined, within one device. Devices can measure density and color while taking into account fluorescence of paper substrate.

Konica Minolta Sensing Releases SDK for FD-Series Spectrodensitometers

RAMSEY, N.J. -- Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc. (KMSA), the worldwide leader in the industrial measurement of color, light and shape, announces the release of their Software Development Kit (SDK) for the recently introduced FD-Series spectrodensitometers.

These new spectrodensitometers are available in 2 models: the FD-5 and FD-7. Both are lightweight, handheld models that can measure density and color while taking into account the fluorescence of the paper substrate. Both models provide repeatable data and also have excellent inter-instrument agreement when communicating color within plants, between printing locations, or with brand management companies.

The SDK is available for the FD-5 & FD-7 and allows 3rd party software developers and integrators the ability to interface their software with the FD device. Developers can now incorporate measurements that directly correspond to the latest ISO 13655.2 guidelines. The advantage is that measurements can be taken under multiple illuminants such as M0, M1, M2 and user-defined can all be achieved within one single device.

"The FD units are unlike any other spectrodensitometer on the market because it corresponds with the current standard M0 and also with the newest M1 standard that's forth coming. Our unit will be the only one that will be backwards compatible between standards giving our customers the piece of mind that using a FD series unit will work today as well as tomorrow," said Russell Doucette, Business Development Manager for Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc.

FD-Series Spectrodensitometers are available for purchase from select graphic arts distributors and from Konica Minolta Sensing. Further product information can be found at http://www.konicaminolta.com/sensingusa
