Original Press Release:

Software Ensures Complete Insertion

Haeger Inc. of Oakdale, California has introduced a new component to its Quality Assurance software option for their line of InsertionLogic® powered, PC controlled hardware insertion machines. The new Part Completion software joins the Fastener Length Verification and Fastener Presence Detection components in a package to help assure the successful installation of hardware in fabricated and stamped parts. It is most advantageous when working with Haeger's SingleTouch Handling solutions - the OneTouch and the Turret Insertion System. These systems allow insertion of multiple types/sizes of hardware in a single part handling and the new software helps ensure that the machine operator has inserted all of the fasteners in the part.

The new addition works in conjunction with the machine's built in counters and part programs. When the last fastener of a part is inserted, a new screen appears on the touchscreen control panel and the operator must touch the panel to resume operation. The addition of this physical act helps assure that all of the fasteners have been inserted into the part prior to an operator inadvertently moving on to the next part. The system can be armed or disarmed in the supervisory level of the control unit.
