Ness Technologies to Launch New Version of its Comprehensive Emergency Management System at HomSec 2007

HACKENSACK, New Jersey, January 8/-- Ness Technologies (NASDAQ: NSTC), a global provider of IT services and solutions, today announced that it will launch a new enhanced version of its AwareNess emergency management system at HomSec 2007 - the international homeland security show to be held on January 9-12, 2007 in Madrid, Spain.

AwareNess addresses the needs of emergency services during all kinds of incidents, including mass casualty events, and provides support to medical, law enforcement and fire-fighting services with full command and control capabilities. It facilitates coordination and synchronization between emergency services from different regions and agencies, enabling effective incident management. The emergency center's team locates the optimal resource (ambulance, squad car, etc.) according to time-to-incident, incident severity, vehicle type, manpower capabilities, equipment, etc., on a computerized map. The mobile unit driver follows the optimal route to the emergency scene on his in-vehicle computerized map.

The new version, AwareNess 2.0, improves the management of mass casualty events, including automatic dispatching of emergency forces and automatic mission status reports when the emergency force enters or leaves the radius around the scene or the hospital. In addition, the new version allows SMS messaging, management of SMS user groups through a user-friendly interface, and tracking the status of SMS messages.

The new version enhances support for portable terminals and personal digital assistants (PDAs), allowing emergency teams to make optimal use of personal wireless devices in missions that require the crew to dismount the vehicle. The system's recording and debriefing capabilities have also been enhanced in the new version.

"The new version further optimizes the performance of emergency teams during rescue operations and disaster management," said Michael Zinderman, President, Technologies & Systems Group (TSG), Ness Technologies. "In an emergency, when every second is critical, AwareNess empowers users to make the best decisions."

AwareNess provides emergency dispatchers with a real-time situational awareness operational picture, based on continuous updates of locations and event details by field units. The system enables each unit to see its immediate surroundings on a computerized map.

AwareNess also provides advanced vehicle location (AVL), decision support and computer aided dispatch (CAD). The system is based on software developed by Ness and incorporates in-vehicle computers, GPS positioning devices and cellular data communications.

Decision support modules provide real-time recommendations for the best routes to destinations, best resources to use for incident handling, best evacuation paths to hospitals, best voice communication channels, and more.
