OSIsoft Releases Additional RtWebParts

New Thin-client Applications, Based on Microsoft SharePoint Technology, Provide New Ways to Connect People, Teams and Knowledge Across Business People

SAN LEANDRO, Calif., May 1 /-- OSIsoft, the leader in performance management software, today announced the availability of new RtWebParts to deliver greater client-side functionality in viewing and managing operational data including, vertical trends, ad hoc SVG, direct export to Excel and support for XY plotting. This set of RtWebParts delivers additional flexibility needed for utilizing, analyzing and viewing real-time information within a browser-based environment.

The release of this new set of web parts provides greater flexibility not only to view and access data, but also to share that information with others. While OSIsoft's PI System data historian has been used by companies for more than 25 years to monitor their assets and operations, increasingly the information gathered is raw and transformed data from disparate systems and infrastructure across the plant/enterprise. Users can now display this real-time data through thin-client applications (web parts) within a web browser and manipulate the raw data to a view that suits their needs. For example, an operator in a remote location can use RtWebparts to identify, diagnose and mediate a problem, either by gathering information in a shared knowledge base or by working with a virtual team.

The full set of newly released RtWebParts include:
o ProcessPoint: Included to enhance site spec management capabilities.
o Vertical Trends: Implemented as an option on RtTrend.
o Display of Annotations and Comments: Modeled on ProcessBook functionality.
o Ad hoc SVG: Open an SVG file in a separate window from RtGraphic.
o Enhanced Web Part Connectivity: Including additional format options for passing parameters (e.g., passing RtTimeRange in localized time format).
o Export to Excel: Data from table and trend web parts can be exported to a format that can be read by Microsoft Excel.
o Support for XY Plots: XY Plot symbols in saved SVG files can be displayed in RtGraphic and new XY Plot charts can be created in a new RtXYPlot web part.

"The greatest challenge to making the right decisions is knowing what to put into your KPIs and how to view that information, which each may require expressing data in several different ways," said Gregg Le Blanc, Director of Product Marketing for OSIsoft. "The additional thin client options in this release of RtWebparts allow greater flexibility in viewing, managing and sharing real-time data and information."

The flexibility in being able to gather and view operational data enhanced by new RtWebParts is well-suited to critical infrastructures such as water management facilities, where precision, dependability and agility are essential to managing operations. "We are in the quality of life business here," said Gary Wong, Manager of Corporate Applications, Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD). "RtWebParts offers us a way to reduce costs, remain sustainable, and improve how we run our business."
