Original Press Release:

SQL Farms Helps Virtualization Providers Get Performance Metrics & Data from Remote SQL Server Environments

SQL Farms, Inc. announced earlier today a new technology and redistributable offerings to collect performance metrics and query data from remote SQL Server environments and data centers, without any remote installations or footprint. The new technology is based on SQL Farms' distributed querying capabilities and aims to assist virtualization providers to troubleshoot and get data from all databases and SQL servers and instances in remote customer locations. The technology is based on SQL Farms' previous offerings that include distributed parallel database access features, which allow users to run queries against many databases and servers and receive a single aggregated result set with data from all data sources.

The new redistributable offerings and licenses provide virtualization vendors with a turn-key solution for remote data collection. Virtualization providers can write custom queries of use code provided by SQL Farms, send the code to the customer site, and get back a single file containing data from all databases and servers. The proprietary file can then be opened in SQL Farm Combine, SQL Farms' flagship product, and the data can be viewed, edited, analyzed, or saved to databases and files for further investigation.

"Our latest offering provides virtualization vendors with eyes and ears at remote customer sites. When end-customers ask virtualization providers to check the virtual SQL Servers and instances, they can now pass data, performance metrics, execution plans, or any other items from their SQL Server environment to the vendors", said Dr. Omri Bahat, CEO of SQL Farms. The redistributable components and offerings for virtualization providers are now available as part of SQL Farm Combine 1.9, the latest release of SQL Farms' flagship product. As part of the launch, the company has initiated a partnership program for virtualization providers, to help their customers automate SQL Server deployment processes and administration tasks.
