EMC Announces New EMC Retrospect Express HD 2.0 for Easy and Reliable PC Backup

EMC Retrospect Express HD Now Available From Leading Retailers

HOPKINTON, Mass., Oct. 12 / - Protecting your music, photos, e-mail, games, tax returns, schoolwork, computer settings - everything on your PC - has just become easier and faster. EMC Corporation, the world leader in information management and storage, today announces the release of EMC Retrospect Express HD 2.0 for simple, fast, and reliable backup of a single PC to an internal or external hard drive. Earlier versions of EMC Retrospect Express HD edition were only available bundled with third-party branded hard drives. With the release of version 2.0, EMC Retrospect Express HD is now available as standalone software from leading online and storefront retailers.

Retrospect Express HD 2.0 takes only minutes to set up using a simple three-step process: choose what to protect, select a hard drive to store backups to, and set a schedule. The software automatically ensures the Windows desktop or notebook is completely and reliably protected.

Retrospect Express HD 2.0 uses the same powerful Progressive Incremental and Smart Restore(TM) technologies found in Retrospect's broader home/home office and business editions. During each backup, Retrospect captures just new or changed data, eliminating the need for time-consuming weekly full backups. If a PC user accidentally deletes or overwrites a file, a virus attacks, or their hard drive fails, Retrospect restores lost data with unparalleled accuracy.

Additional key features in Retrospect Express HD 2.0 include:

o Stores backups on internal or external hard drives, including networked
drives (New)
o Backs up on an automated schedule and/or immediately at the press of a
button
o Flexibility to backup everything or just files that matter most
o Restores a single file or entire PC to any point in time when a backup
