Overview
The IBM Tivoli® System Automation family can help you to establish one operations and automation team for automating end-to-end, z/OS®, Linux(TM), and AIX® applications. IBM Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms V2.1 (SA MP) includes:

End-to-end automation
Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms offers an end-to-end automation manager which uses adapters to automatically learn about applications and their status from the platform-specific Tivoli System Automation. Only the cross-platform resources, groups, and dependencies need to be defined. SA MP allows you to:
Integrate z/OS, Linux, and AIX applications into end-to-end automation of heterogeneous on demand applications
Increase application availability by resolving cross-platform dependencies
Ease operations through goal-driven automation
End-to-end operations

The new Web-based single point of control across z/OS, Linux, and AIX greatly simplifies operations, problem determination, and resolution through:
Display of aggregated and detailed status of application components
Start or stop of application components on all platforms with a single action in the right order
Plug 'n play automation modules can reduce automation costs and implementation time

Unlike most automation products, SA MP is policy-based, requiring no extensive programming skills. Automation policy is now defined in XML format using the XML editor of your choice. Plug 'n play automation modules for mySAP(TM), WebSphere®, DB2®, Tivoli Storage Manager, and more applications are available for download from the following Web site. www.ibm.com/software/tivoli/products/sys-auto-linux
