ComponentOne(R) Releases ComponentOne Doc-To-Help 2005 - New Version Adds Flexible HTML Functionality and a RoboHelp Project Converter

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 1 -- ComponentOne today released ComponentOne Doc-To-Help 2005. Doc-To-Help 2005 adds important new functionality allowing authors to use any HTML editor for their source content, convert RoboHelp and other HTML Help projects, and generate NetHelp, a browser independent, HTML-based Help system. These new features enhance the already powerful and popular tool used historically by Microsoft Word authors and expand the products' appeal to those authoring in Microsoft Word, HTML or RoboHelp.

The new version of Doc-To-Help presents an innovative and exclusive way to author Help systems and printed documentation in HTML or Word. With Doc-To- Help 2005, authors simply use styles from a customizable style sheet to define Help systems within their favorite HTML editor or Word. This flexible approach to Help authoring eliminates requirements for proprietary editors and minimizes learning curves for new interfaces. The workflow is streamlined and the HTML remains clean and ready for use elsewhere.

Users of RoboHelp and other Help authoring tools can now easily convert their projects to Doc-To-Help. The new converters automatically translate Help system features to Doc-To-Help's "clean HTML" format with a click of a button. Doc-To-Help 2005 delivers converters specifically for RoboHelp projects as well as for general HTML Help projects.

"Our goal is to provide the Help authoring community with the tools they need to produce robust Help systems while allowing them to author in environments in which they are comfortable," said Sunny Wong, Managing Director of ComponentOne. "We've talked to our customers and the community, listened to their needs and have responded with the new Doc-To-Help 2005. We will continue to support the new trends in Help authoring and develop innovative features that support emerging technologies."

This release follows an extensive and successful Doc-To-Help beta program in which many participants expressed their thoughts. "It is a great improvement. Many of the new features have been requested by my customers and in the past I had to use several tools to accomplish what was expected," said Eileen Cowan of Documentation Resources, Inc.

"This is my first serious experience in using Doc-To-Help since the 2000 version. It is a totally different program from the one I used to know. I am going to really like it. Yes, I will recommend it to other Help Authors," Jo Francis Byrd of Byrd Writes Communications.
