Print Management Including Cost Control

BERLIN, May 2 / -- In Addition to the Proven Features of Compression, Bandwidth Control, and SSL Encryption, the New Print Management Solution Version 7.0 of ThinPrint's ThinPrint .print now Offers a Tool for Analyzing the Costs of Printing in a Network

130 billion printed pages worldwide in 2006, 10 % percent more than in 2004.This was forecasted by Dataquest. According to a printer manufacturer's survey of 600 German companies, however, 8 percent do not have an overview of the print volume in their network - leaving valuable potential for savings untapped(i). The new version 7.0 of the print management solution, ThinPrint .print, offers methods of compiling, analyzing, and reducing the costs of printing. The software solution for printing in distributed networks features a tracking service, which logs print behavior and output volume in a network.

The collected data is displayed for analysis as simple graphics via a web component. A broad range of additional features help cut the costs of administration and support. The new .print Engine version 7.0 is now available from more than 500 renowned channel partners in more than 80 countries worldwide. A free demo version can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website at www.thinprint.com.

"Cutting costs has always been an important argument for our customers, because ultimately, our solution minimizes the cost of printing by greatly simplifying the administration involved in printing as well as reducing the costs of support and bandwidth usage," states Carsten Mickeleit, Managing Director at ThinPrint GmbH. "Now we also offer businesses the additional option of analyzing print behavior in their network to detect savings potential and to plan printer resources efficiently."

In addition to the .print Tracking Service, the new version 7.0 offers other features that reduce the cost of printing by simplifying administration. A new administration tool, the dynamic printer matrix, is a matrix that lets administrators automatically assign the right printers to their users, including printer drivers, appropriate transfer protocol, and optimal bandwidth setting.

ThinPrint's DRIVER FREE PRINTING can now also be used in conjunction with thin clients and print boxes to simplify administration. Also new: once a single server has been configured, its configuration can be transferred to other servers using the Microsoft Management Console. As of version 7.0 ThinPrint's DRIVER FREE PRINTING technology is also certified by Microsoft. That makes rollout in larger environments significantly easier.
