Alcatel-Lucent Award-Winning Performance Management Software Expands Capability for Enterprises and Service Providers



Paris, May 22, 2007 - Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced the latest release of its next generation performance management software, VitalSuite® Performance Management Software R10.1. This critical administrative tool, which provides fully integrated management of network, services, applications and business performance, is a key component of Alcatel-Lucent's end-to-end solutions offering to CIOs (Chief Information Officers) to help them leverage their networks as a competitive weapon.

VitalSuite release 10.1 supports additional enterprise and service provider network devices and delivers improved ease-of-use features, expands platform support flexibility, supports Linux server MIB, while bringing a variety of reporting enhancements that provide IT managers with increased access to performance metrics.

Critical new security features have been added for Alcatel-Lucent's rapidly growing number of government and large enterprise customers, including capabilities for discovering and collecting performance data and the display of path information from devices running SNMPv3. Additionally, the Live Diagnostics feature added in 10.1 enables VitalSuite to continuously poll a network device, gather performance metrics in real-time and chart this information for root cause/fault analysis.

VitalSuite delivers these additional capabilities with "out-of-the-box" support for Alcatel-Lucent's awarding IP-PBX and routing solutions, including the OmniPCX, OmniSwitch and 7x50 product family. The combined solution detects quality of service (QoS) problems and simplifies performance monitoring, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and customer SLA reporting for mid to large enterprises, managed service providers, and governments.
