Software accelerates laser mark-up and cycle times.

Press Release Summary:

Working with Windows® software using true-32-bit format, TRUMARK® can manage multiple laser processing sequences as well as single laser parameters. Database contains laser parameters for various materials that can be dragged and dropped from library into specific CAD part files. Software comes with standalone CAD Editor and advanced CAD editing features. Photographic quality printing can be accomplished with raster and 16-bit grayscale imaging.

New TRUMARK Software Helps Laser Marking System Hit the Mark

FARMINGTON, Conn., October 6, 2003 - At FABTECH 2003, TRUMPF will introduce new software for the VectorMark product line. The software named TRUMARK®, works with Windows® software using a true-32-bit format. As a result of the software, laser marking setup times and cycle times are faster. Also, higher quality graphics are easier to produce.

One advantage of the software is its sophisticated database, which contains laser parameters for many common materials. Easily managed using a tree structure, laser parameters for each material can be dragged and dropped from the library to a specific CAD part file. These can be included as fixed laser parameters, or as a variable reference to the laser parameter library. As laser parameters for a specific material are improved, all part files using that material are automatically upgraded.

TRUMARK can manage multiple laser processing sequences as easily as single laser parameters. The software can also simplify multiple-stage marking operations. The operator simply drags and drops a single icon into a part CAD file and the software automatically assigns multiple processes with varying laser parameters for each process.

Using the new software, the VectorMark can mark in three dimensions. TRUMARK uses the ESU built into the VectorMark unit as a "telescoping" lens. The software comes with standalone CAD Editor and advanced CAD editing features and can import most standard CAD format graphics, as well as BMP, TIFF, JPEG, and PCX file formats. Photographic quality printing can be accomplished with both raster and 16-bit grayscale imaging. With the software and VectorMark's high beam quality, the VMc 3 achieves a mark resolution of 635 dpi.

TRUMPF is one of the world's largest producers of fabricating machinery and a world market leader in lasers used for industrial production technology. Additional company information is available at: www.us.trumpf.com
