Soft Printing Roll Covers are offered with HNBR option.

Press Release Summary:

THERBAN® C 3669 VP (36% ACN; 6% RDB; 95 Mooney viscosity) is offered as alternative to acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymers (NBR) rollers in fabrication of rubber roll coverings used in extreme environments. Soft printing roll cover option, made of THERBAN hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer (HNBR), allows for development of compound formulation with high acceptance of plasticizer. It also contributes to symmetrical shape during roll cover fabrication.

LANXESS Corporation Releases New HNBR Option for High-Performance Soft Printing Roll Covers

THERBAN® C 3669 VP is an alternative to NBR rollers when uncompromising performance is required

PITTSBURGH - April 16, 2008 - LANXESS Corporation is providing a high-performance soft printing roll cover option with its latest grade of THERBAN® hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer (HNBR), THERBAN® C 3669 VP (36% ACN; 6% RDB; 95 Mooney viscosity).

THERBAN® C 3669 VP offers the best upgrade choice to the well-established acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymers (NBR) in the fabrication of rubber roll coverings used in extreme environments. When longer service life is required for reducing cost-intensive downtime and associated replacement costs of NBR roll covers, HNBR polymers provide an ideal solution.

"THERBAN® C 3669 VP allows for the development of a compound formulation with a high acceptance of plasticizer, a typical requirement for cost-effective soft roll covers," says Nowshir Bilimoria, Business Development Manager for LANXESS Technical Rubber Products. "This new THERBAN® grade also contributes to a more symmetrical shape during roll cover fabrication, compared to standard HNBR grades, meaning less material has to be grinded to get a smooth symmetric cylindrical shape of the roll cover."

The LANXESS Technical Rubber Product group will showcase the new THERBAN® C 3669 VP product at the Rubber Roll Group Convention in Southlake, TX, on May 4th.
