SMW Autoblok to Feature New Extra-Compact Steady Rest at IMTS
Wheeling, IL – At IMTS 2016, SMW Autoblok will be featuring the new RX Steady Rest designed especially for machines with limited mounting space. Despite being built with minimum overall dimensions, the RX provides a large clamping range of 100mm to 520mm within a single steady rest.
An innovative double cam actuating mechanism enables the RX to avoid interference with operations by clearing both the door and chip conveyer of the machine. An integrated actuating cylinder completes the extra compact design.
The RX has a high level of centering accuracy and repeatability. Productivity is also enhanced by features like a fully sealed design and an integrated coolant flush to clear away chips.
