SMS Machine Tools to Feature Hyundai WIA Machine Technology in CMTS Booth #2580

Itasca, ILÂ — Toronto-based distributor, SMS Machine Tools, plans to host live demonstrations of multiple Hyundai WIA machines throughout CMTS in booth #2580. Technology currently scheduled to appear include the latest advances in multi-task turning, horizontal lathes and vertical machining centers the very technology Hyundai Motors relies on to build parts for the roughly 8 million cars it produces across the globe annually.
The L2100SY multi-tasking wedge type Y-axis CNC turning center scheduled to appear has an 8” chuck on the main spindle and a 6” chuck on the sub spindle for complex machining in a single setup. A latest-generation BMT top plate increases tool performance and rigidity by securing each tool with four screws. Cutting is reinforced by all-axis box guideway design.
A significant portion of Hyundai WIA’s industry-leading range of CNC vertical machining centers is available from SMS Machine Tools. Attendees will be able to see firsthand how these machines use roller contact linear motion guide ways for fast accurate machining. Hyundai WIA VMCs also feature a high-precision spindle with elevated resistance to heat distortion in heavy duty cutting for high accuracy, high rigidity and high precision in the most demanding jobs.
Horizontal lathe technology from Hyundai WIA also features some unique characteristics. Visitors to the booth will see how box guideways provide durable rigidity and accuracy and a three-step gearbox that’s ideal for low-torque heavy cuts and high speed fine finishing. Plus, a large BMT turret enables a variety of operations in a single setup.
