SMD Chip Resistor Arrays feature dual-value capability.

Press Release Summary:

With ability to hold 2 different resistance values on one chip, MAC series enables designers to put entire voltage divider or other functional network of resistors onto one part. Concave SMD chip arrays can offer any combination of resistance values from 10 W to 1 MW and are available in 8-pin, 4-resistor isolated schematic or 10-pin, 8-resistor bussed schematic. Level of tolerance and TCR tracking between elements lends to accuracy and stability of dividers or other networks.

Stackpole Electronics, Inc. Introduces the MAC Series of Dual Value Surface Mount Chip Resistor Arrays

Multiple value arrays offer easier integration for high density electronics...

RALEIGH, NC (December 3, 2007) - Stackpole Electronics, Inc. introduces a new series of concave SMD chip arrays with the capability to do two different resistance values on a single chip. Designated the MAC series, this product offers the next level of simple integration by enabling the designer to put an entire voltage divider or other functional network of resistors onto a single part. The MAC series can offer any combination of resistance values from around 10 ohms up to 1 Meg. Other divider networks are usually limited to ratios of only 100 to 1 or 1000 to one. This flexibility ensures that the MAC series will find application in many market segments.

Chip arrays are well known for their superior tolerance and TCR tracking between elements. This characteristic still holds for the MAC. This means more accurate and stable voltage dividers or other divider type networks, such as those used for feedback loops. The MAC series currently offers a standard 8 pin - 4 resistor isolated schematic, and a 10 pin 8 resistor bussed schematic, but other packages and schematics are possible. 5% absolute resistance tolerances are standard, but tighter tolerances are possible depending resistance value.

Applications for this product range from desktop PC's, computer peripherals, amplifier feedback circuits, as well as current limiting resistors for LED's, and logic circuits.

The MAC 14D2 is available in 5000 pcs reels and the MAC 28M2 is available in 4000 pcs reels. Pricing is size, resistance value, and volume dependent but ranges from $50 per thousand to around $100 per thousand.
