Smartplug Wins 2010 Good Design Award

A leader in shore power innovation, SmartPlug won the influential 2010 GOOD DESIGN award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd. It's given to the most cutting-edge commercial, product and graphic designs produced around the globe.

In its 60th year, GOOD DESIGN is the oldest and most prestigious awards program organized worldwide. The award honors yearly achievements of the best designers and has been given to a variety of creations, including the paperclip and a NASA spaceship.

"We're very proud of our product and excited it has been recognized for its value and innovation," said Ken Smith, SmartPlug CEO. "This award helps us bring our mission of ensuring safer power delivery systems to the world."

A revolutionary power system, SmartPlug is designed to replace the outdated and problematic twist-type power cord connectors currently used in many industries. Its intuitive design and integrated safety features provide greatly improved protection against the two leading causes of failure and connection-related fires, loose connections and corrosion.
