ActiveLED® Introduces LightSpace® Manager Vacancy Switch, Enhanced Control Settings for Energy Efficiency Code Compliance

Distinct, smart controls for LED lighting within residential and commercial buildings

GEORGETOWN, Texas – ActiveLED®, a Texas-based manufacturer of USA-made ActiveLED® luminaires, announced today the expansion of the LightSpace® Lighting Control offering with the introduction of LightSpace Manager Vacancy Switch. Designed to deliver distinct control for energy efficiencies in LED lighting, the switch can be used in offices, conference rooms, hallways, and storage rooms. The single zone, low-voltage lighting control switch increases an occupant's control of LED lighting for streamlined compliance with energy codes ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and Title 24.

Efficiency standards for both residential and nonresidential buildings have been in place for decades and are updated regularly to reflect improvements in energy-efficient technologies. In states like California, energy codes are heavily mandated. Title 24, Part 6 of the California Code of Regulations, issued updates in 2013 specific to time-switch, astronomical, and vacancy settings. The ASHRAE Standard 90.1 and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) are benchmarks for commercial building energy codes as they define the minimum requirements for energy-efficient design.

Addressing code requirements using a smart, easy-to-use, and adjustable approach, the LightSpace Manager Vacancy Switch includes features such as manual-on/auto-off vacancy motion control, user-set digital dimming levels, and remote control capabilities via a built-in infrared (IR) receiver.

The LightSpace Manager Vacancy Switch is an integral component of the LightSpace Lighting Control System. The system allows for lighting control of a single fixture, multiple lighting zones, or an entire building through input from devices such as vacancy, occupancy, and daylighting sensors, dry contact inputs, and commands from an existing building management system via the LightSpace BMS Adaptor. End users can access and program the system by use of switches, a hand-held remote, and a browser-based monitoring software program.

"Lighting control systems can quickly become overcomplicated and result in the system failing to deliver true efficiencies," remarked Klaus Bollmann, president of ActiveLED. "We are pleased to roll out the Vacancy Switch as it will allow organizations to easily and accurately control all the lighting in their space--whether it be outside, different floors, wings, or even single spaces, while remaining compliant with their local energy codes."

The LightSpace Manager Vacancy Switch is currently available directly from ActiveLED or its network of authorized resellers. For more information, visit the company online at www.ActiveLED.com.
