New Schlage Contactless Smart Credentials Increase Security, Compatibility, and Scalability

Rapid Data Transfer Up to 32x Faster; Up to 2x the Memory

CARMEL, IND. - Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today announced that its new line of Schlage contactless smart credentials provides the highest level of security, compatibility and scalability on the market today. The new contactless smart credentials leverage MIFARE EV1 technology, are encrypted with AES 128-bit diversified keys and include mutual authentication and a message authentication code (MAC) to ensure that data is safe.

"When we asked our customers what they wanted, they requested that their access control solution installed today could be customized to meet their present security and safety issues but be able to accommodate other applications that will let their system easily, quickly and affordably grow and adapt as needed," explains Jennifer Toscano, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies portfolio marketing manager, credentials, readers, software, and controls. "We've done that with this new line of Schlage contactless smart credentials."

Designed on an open architecture platform, the new Schlage contactless smart credentials are built to comply with ISO 14443 standards, the international standard for contactless smart cards. Setting new standards, the new Schlage credentials provide an extremely rapid up to 848 kbps baud rate data transfer between the credential and reader, up to 32 times faster than many contactless smart credentials already on the market.

With up to twice the memory as traditional contactless smart credentials, memory options of 2K, 4K and 8K bytes lets users get the solution needed today without having to purchase extra memory. In addition, the flexible design of the credentials helps them support diversified applications ranging from biometrics to cashless vending and transit passes. Applications can be added to support system expansion as slowly or quickly as needs and budgets become available.

The new contactless smart credentials are available now and will be showcased at ISC West in Las Vegas March 24-26 at Booth #20041.
