Very Low Cost Smart Camera Now Available

Vision Components GmbH, a leader in industrial machine vision, today introduced the VC 2028, a very low cost intelligent camera for industrial applications.

The camera may be purchased, at the manufacturer's actual list price for $1499.

The VC2028 joins the stable of the world's fastest smart cameras, manufactured by Vision Components GmbH, which include the VC 2065 and VC 2038. Like its sister products, the VC 2028 smart camera is a complete image processing system contained within one neat housing. All three cameras have a computational power of 1200 MIPS, rivaling a 1GHz Pentium processor. All three offer 16 Mbytes SDRAM image/data memory with 2 Mbytes of flash EPROM for program and data storage (expandable). The VC 2038 can acquire full frame 640 (H) x 480 (V) pixels at 40 frames per second - now the VC 2028 offers the same resolution at 20 fps, at a comparatively very low price.

The process interface for the VC 2038 and VC 2028 allows 4 inputs and 4 outputs. Video output is via an 800x600, 46.875 MHz SVGA monitor.

All Vision Components cameras are built for industrial applications and are designed to be insensitive to shock and vibrations. They have multiple 110 lines for direct control of external equipment, and for more complex control tasks, they can easily be interfaced to a PLC.
