Small or Large -- SolidWorks Customers Choose Synergis Adept as their PDM System to Reduce Design Costs

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 5 /- (SolidWorks World Booth #508) Synergis Software, the independent software development division of Synergis Technologies, Inc., today announced that companies large and small that use SolidWorks design software, including Northrop Grumman, InTEST Corporation and LaunchPoint Technologies, have chosen Synergis Adept® as their enterprise Product Data Management (PDM) solution over other PDM/EDM systems. For a project involving a miniature-sized heart assist device for infants, funded by the National Institutes of Health, LaunchPoint uses Adept to meet its document control obligations under the grant requiring the company to keep all past and present engineering design documents in a reliable, easily accessible tracking system. Another notable project for the company includes managing data within Adept for the development of a magnetic satellite launching system.

Another SolidWorks customer who selected Synergis Adept is the Wallops Flight Facility of Northrop Grumman, a $30 billion global defense and technology company with more than 120,000 employees. "We are mainly using Adept on the NASA Sounding Rocket program and Adept has really helped us meet our goal of staying on schedule and building a high quality product," said Brian Creighton, mechanical engineer, Wallops Flight Facility, Northrop Grumman. "We use Adept from initial design phase - engineers design parts for 'in process' design - all the way to when the fabrication prints are released to manufacturing. What's more the performance is very good - and we're working with assemblies that are 150-200MB and have upwards of 1200 parts."
InTEST Corporation, which designs, manufactures, and markets products that are used primarily by the who's who of semiconductor manufacturers to test their integrated circuits and wafer products, chose Adept because of its advanced capabilities for allowing geographically dispersed design teams to more effectively manage and share data. In addition, the company relies on Adept to facilitate design reuse.

"Ninety-nine percent of our design work is done in SolidWorks.
