Bosch Grinders Offer 40% Longer Life

Airflow and motor improvements lead industry in durability and productivity

Mount Prospect, Ill., October 30, 2006 - Today, Bosch announced small angle grinder motor technology and airflow improvements resulting in 40% longer life over previous models and up to two times longer life over competition. Now, from fabrication shops to general contractors, professionals reap both financial and productivity benefits from better performing and longer lasting grinders. The eight new 4-1/2, 5, and 6-inch 1800-series grinders will immediately replace previous generation 1700-series models.

Bosch grinders define industry durability and performance standards. An improved motor commutator and brush system for each of the new 1800-series grinders minimizes heat buildup and substantially enhances durability. As a result, Bosch continues to shine with up to twice the life of its competitors and 40% longer life over its own previous generation models.

Bosch engineers also improved the industry's leading airflow technology by incorporating additional channels at the top, bottom and sides of the Bosch 4-1/2-inch 1800, 5-inch 1801, 5-inch 1803EVS and 6-inch 1806E small angle grinders. These channels not only keep dust and debris from contaminating the inner workings of the tool - pulling clean air from the back of the tool versus the front - but they also help channel airflow to where it is needed most for maximum motor cooling. As a result, professionals enhance their business with more productive labor, longer lasting grinders and a better bottom line.

The new Bosch Small Angle Grinder line includes:
o 4-1/2-inch 1810PS
o 4-1/2-inch 1810PDS
o 5-inch 1811PS
o 5-inch 1811PSD
o 4-1/2-inch 1800
o 5-inch 1801
o 5-inch 1803EVS
o 6-inch 1806E
