New Mate LongLife Slitting Tool System for Trumpf Style Punch Presses Announced
Anoka, Minnesota: Mate Precision Tooling is introducing a slitting tool system for Trumpf style punch presses called Mate LongLife(TM).
Fully OEM compatible, Mate LongLife combines premium tool steel punch and die inserts with robust punch and die holders for the most cost effective slitting tool solution.
"Mate LongLife tooling is designed to replace conventional punches and dies, thereby delivering exceptional value to the fabricating process," according to Andy Spence Parsons, Mate marketing manager. "It provides fabricators with another option to improve productivity and profitability."
Mate LongLife consists of the following tool components with these benefits:
Punch inserts extend tool life: Mate LongLife punch inserts are manufactured from premium high speed steel to provide the maximum interval between regrinds. They are available in two standard sizes: 5.00 x 56.00 mm rectangle and 5.00 x 76.20 mm rectangle.
Punch Insert Holders speed setup: A choice of two insert punch holders is available. One includes an integral alignment ring for fast and precise tool setup. The second requires a heavy duty alignment ring to allow manual angle setting flexibility. Mate LongLife punch holders work with conventional machine strippers.
Die inserts suit up to 3.00 mm mild steel: Die inserts are available in two standard sizes, 5.00 x 56 mm rectangle and 5.00 x 76.20 mm rectangle with 0.10 mm die clearance increments from +0.10 mm to +0.60 mm.
Die insert holders with precise orientation: The die inserts are assembled into one of two die insert holders - one to suit the 56 mm long inserts and one to suit the 76.2 mm inserts. These die insert holders include precise angular orientation at 0 and 90 degrees for maximum flexibility.
