SKF 'PICO' Miniature Linear Stages Enable 'Pick-and-Place' Positioning

SKF® "PICO" ball-screw driven miniature linear stages provide compact and reliable solutions for high-precision "pick-and-place" positioning applications in the medical, laboratory instrumentation, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, packaging, and automation industries, among others. They are supplied as fully integrated "plug-and-play" units eliminating any need to inventory and sub-assemble disparate system components.

These compact stages enable controlled linear movement exhibiting optimized repeatability, precise positioning, increased accuracy, and quiet operation. They uniquely integrate drive and guidance mechanisms using standard SKF components (precision ground ball screws and miniature profile rail guides).

PICO stages are available in two sizes (60mm and 80mm) and five standard stroke lengths for each size. Travel speeds up to 500 mm/sec can be achieved.

Standard features include an extruded aluminum base for optimized weight; stainless steel cover for corrosion-resistance; limit switches with plug attachment; and axes designed for cross-table assembly.

Options include stepper motor package; servo motor package; attachment of linear measurement systems; and variable multi-axis assembly. PICO stages can be customized further to meet particular application requirements.
