Six Sigma Greenbelt Course

A 10-week course to Improve Your Performance offered by CMTC

Today's manufacturers are faced with many challenges, including finding ways to reduce costs, increase sales, reduce product defects and improve product quality and customer satisfaction, just to name a few. Many organizations would categorize their operational performance as good, but recognize that there is always a need to improve. These manufacturers understand that by reducing product defects they will improve performance as well as customer satisfaction and bring more revenue to the bottom line.

CMTC's Six Sigma Greenbelt forty-hour course uses a project based approach to teaching the Greenbelt candidates to use the Six Sigma - Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) model, and the statistical tools required to complete their first Six Sigma project.

When:

February 25, 2010 through April 29, 2010

10 week course (40 hours)

3:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday

Where:

Pacific Palms Conference Center

One Industry Hills Parkway

Industry Hills, CA 91744

626-810-4455

Cost:

Registration $2,900/person

Six Sigma uses an analytical approach that looks at a process and accomplishes two objectives. In the Measure and Analyze phases it provides insight into the "inputs" and the resultant "outputs" of a process. Inputs can be: raw materials; parameter settings; order entry requirements; machine settings; etc. The output is the resultant product of the inputs.

The CMTC Greenbelt candidate will receive instruction on the following statistical techniques, as well as one-on-one assistance from a CMTC Six Sigma Blackbelt or Master Blackbelt:

1. Basic Concepts of Six Sigma and the DMAIC Model

2. Process Mapping

3. Six Sigma Metrics

4. Data Collection Methods

5. Histograms

6. Pareto Diagrams

7. Central Limit Theorem

8. Process Capability Analysis

9. Regression Analysis

10. Root Cause Analysis

11. Fault-Tree Analysis and Countermeasure Matrix

12. Statistical Process Control (SPC)

13. Multi-Vari Analysis

14. Gage R & R

15. Introduction to Design of Experiments

All Greenbelt candidates will receive statistical software to be used in the class as well as for their projects. They will also receive a notebook containing all presentations, detailed text supporting each classroom session, exercises, and step by step instructions for setting up example problems in the statistical software. The training includes the use of hands-on exercises for each module and in-class and one-on-one review of the Greenbelt project.

Our certification process is simple. As part of the training, the Greenbelt candidates use the Six Sigma skills they learn to resolve a problem selected by your organization. Certification will be achieved upon completion of the project demonstrating the use and understanding of the Greenbelt tools and methodologies. Certified CMTC Blackbelts work with the Greenbelt candidates to identify quality process improvement opportunities. Our certification program teaches the application of Six Sigma analytical and problem solving tools and applies them to real-world business problems. This is done with the supervision and assistance of the CMTC Blackbelt. Your organization receives immediate benefits from this training. The entire certification process, including training and project, is usually completed in three months.
