New Six-Jaw Chuck to Improve Roundness Specifications

...Positrol, Inc. unveils a Six-Jaw Chuck for the first time at IMTS 2010...

-Booth W-2112. The Positrol Six-Jaw Chuck is designed to give an improved roundness
specification for achieving a higher quality part. With the new design, the chuck locates and pulls back in twelve separate locations reducing scrap rates to lower total part costs.

For example, you can grip on twelve points of an out-of-round, thin-walled ring gear
distributing the gripping force more evenly. This eliminates distortion of the part during machining. Parts are gripped and held securely to withstand the cutting forces generated in production machining. With a design based on other industry-tested Positrol standards, the Six-Jaw Chuck will operate trouble-free in the roughest of environments.

A wide array of chuck and arbor designs are offered by Positrol to allow for flexibility in tailoring a workholding solution to help maximize machining efficiencies and workpiece accuracies. Positrol specializes in providing solutions for turning, grinding, balancing, milling and gear operations.
