Compact Single-Port Cat5 Passive PoE Midspan/Injectors Offer Cost Effective PoE Solutions
NORTH ANDOVER, MA - L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, now carries a compact passive PoE Midspan/Injector for single Cat5 lines starting at just $5.00 US. The new BT-CAT5-E1 product can either inject or tap up to 48 VDC on the unused wires in a standard Category 5 cable.
It can fit in spaces just 2.12 inches (54 mm) wide and it weighs just 29 grams. Starting at just $5.00 per individual unit, it utilizes shielded RJ45 jacks and a 2.5mm power jack. In addition to the single unit, L-com will carry kits that combine the unit with either a 48W or 70W power supply.
"For years we have offered a broad selection of heavy-duty midspans and injectors for long term installations," said Patrick Pesa, Director of Product Management. "This new item complements that line by offering a small and light unit that can easily be moved or arranged as needed."
The new product is expected to be available to ship by the end of March. It will be stocked in the US for same-day shipment. A comprehensive diagram, datasheet, 2D engineering drawing and 3D CAD model are all available for free download on L-com's web site.
