Single-Output 300 mA CMOS-LDO Regulator ICs suit mobile devices.

Press Release Summary:

While TCR3DMxx comes in 1.0 x 1.0 x 0.58 mm DFN4 package, TCR3DFxx comes in 2.8 x 2.9 x 1.1 mm, general-purpose, SMV (SOT-25) package. Both have built-in low inrush current reduction circuit and output auto-discharge function as well as over current protection and thermal shut down function. Low drop-out voltage is 490 mV typ at 1.2 V output (VIN-VOUT) and 300 mA (IOUT), and output noise voltage is 38 Vrms typ at 2.5 V output. Output voltage is configurable from 1.0–4.5 V in 50 mV steps.

Original Press Release:

300mA CMOS-LDO Regulator ICs for Mobile Devices

Feature Low Drop-out Voltage, Low Output Noise Voltage, Low Inrush Current

IRVINE, Calif. -- Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC)*, a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, today announced two new additions to its TCR3D series of 300mA single output CMOS-LDO regulator ICs.  The new TCR3DMxx is housed in a small DFN4 (1.0×1.0×0.58mm) package; and the TCR3DFxx comes in a general purpose SMV(SOT-25)(2.8×2.9×1.1mm) package.

Both feature low drop-out voltage, low output noise voltage and a built-in low inrush current reduction circuit.

Toshiba offers more than 40 products with a fixed output voltage ranging from 1.0 to 4.5V to accommodate various applications, including smart phones, tablet PCs, portable audio players, digital cameras, game consoles and other small mobile devices.

CMOS-LDO regulators enable a low profile, low supply current and low dropout, making them a popular power management choice for mobile devices.  Toshiba's micro CMOS process helps the regulators improve the tradeoff between characteristics and size.  A small package size makes the new LDO regulators suitable for applications requiring high-density packaging, such as portable devices.

Notes:

Product density is identified based on the density of memory chip(s) within the Product, not the amount of memory capacity available for data storage by the end user. Consumer-usable capacity will be less due to overhead data areas, formatting, bad blocks, and other constraints, and may also vary based on the host device and application.
