Reinforced Hinge Pin Enhances Durability of Red Dot® Non-Metallic While-In-Use Cover
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Thomas & Betts' Red Dot® Code Keeper® Non-Metallic While-In-Use Cover continues to set the standard in weatherproof boxes. The new reinforced hinge pin increases the cover's durability and enables it to be installed vertically or horizontally. With the included adapter plates, the cover offers the flexibility to fit a wide variety of outlet configurations.
"By their very nature, in-use covers are subjected to significant stress, particularly on the hinge pin," said John Archer, director of product management for Thomas & Betts. "Our new polycarbonate hinge pin reduces the impact of undue stress, increasing product performance and life cycle, while providing greater versatility in how the cover can be installed. The Red Dot Code Keeper Non-Metallic While-In-Use Cover further enhances an already extensive line of weatherproof boxes and covers for outdoor electrical installations."
Available for single- and two-gang boxes in standard- and deep-wall sizes, the Red Dot Code Keeper Non-Metallic While-In-Use Cover also features keyhole mounts that eliminate the need to remove and replace mounting screws, saving time required for installation. Other features include pre-adhered gaskets that save additional installation time, a lock to secure the outlet when it is not in use and a wasp guard to keep out insects. The cover is available in clear, gray and white.
