New One Component Silicone Has Exceptional Heat Resistance



Master Bond Inc., Hackensack, N.J. has developed a new single component, high performance, non-corrosive silicone elastomer compound for bonding, sealing, coating and formed-in-place gaskets. This formulation is called MasterSil 800 and is designed for service up to 300°C (572°F). Room temperature curable MasterSil 800 is a self leveling, free flowing, low viscosity material that allows filling minute crevices and voids. It has a tack free time of approximately 20 minutes at ambient temperatures. It can be cured in cross section thicknesses up to ¼".

MasterSil 800 has superb adhesion to many metals, ceramics, woods, rubbers and plastics without the aid of a primer. For maximum adhesion employment of specific silicone primers are recommended. Cured MasterSil 800 retains high physical strength properties even after prolonged exposure to weathering, moisture, ozone and high temperatures.

Master Bond MasterSil 800 has a 6 month shelf life in original unopened containers. It is available for use in pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon containers. It is also available for use in convenient cartridge containers.
