Eugene, OR - Embedded computer users can now purchase VersaLogic's Bobcat single board computer in an extended temperature configuration. This new version of the popular PC/104-Plus module features a 586 CPU running at 100 MHz and operates at -40°C to +85°C.
The Bobcat uses the Elan SC520 CPU, a low-power 586 processor. It features 10/100 Ethernet, 64 MB of system RAM, and a DiskOnChip flash socket. Standard I/0 includes floppy, IDE, and four COM ports (two RS-422/485). The versatile re-programmable BIOS has special embedded features for OEMs. The board is software compatible with Windows, QNX, Linux, RT-Linux, and other popular RTOSs.
The Bobcat is appropriate for military, medical, transportation, automation, and other high-reliability or harsh environment applications. It is designed for embedded systems requiring long product availability and high reliability.
