BASIC-Programmable 16-Channel Datalogger Offers 128MB SmartMedia Storage

Pittsford, New York. DL7000 is a new single board computer designed for embedded datalogging applications. With 16 analog inputs having individually settable input ranges (0 to 5V, 0 to 10V, ±5V, ±10V, 0 to 20 mA, etc.) and 6 digital I/O lines, this 7" x 3" x 2" device is ideal for embedded control and data logging applications requiring low cost, small size, low power, high reliability, with a SmartMedia interface for lots of datastorage.

Based in the popular Wilke Tiger modules, DL7000 can have up to 2.5 Mbytes FLASH/SRAM memory, with built-in connectors for serial I/O and external keypad and graphic LCD. DL7000 is a universal programmable datalogging system, which can be tailored to the specific requirements of a particular application. Programming is via any PC in an easily understood BASIC language. By using FLASH technology the datalogger can be updated at any time in-field and can store data and parameter settings in FLASH memory. For recording large amounts of data the SmartMedia interface takes removable, commercially-available FLASH cards up to 128 Mbytes. For quality assurance applications, the SmartMedia data carrier can be used as an endless ring buffer, recording all relevant data of the last 90 working days and automatically overwriting older recordings. When failures occur or thresholds are exceeded, appropriate data is taken for later analysis.

You program the DL7000 data logger (using Tiger-BASIC, an easy-to-use, high level language with familiar syntax) to execute up to 100,000 multitasking BASIC instructions per second. Complete software development kits and an extensive set of software drivers are available, greatly simplifying and shortening the software development cycle. Development kits include an editor, compiler, downloader, and source-code debugger. DL7000 can be used in a wide range of applications, from factory test equipment and scientific instruments, to environmental data acquisition. An optional protective aluminum housing is also available.

Made in Germany by Wilke Technology, DL7000 is available now from their USA agents Saelig Co. Inc. NY 585-385-1750; 585-385-1768 fax; info@saelig.com; www.saelig.com). Prices for DL7000 start at $384 in single unit quantities. Prices for software development kits start at $219.
