Single Bladed Saw is fully automatic.

Press Release Summary:

Fed by automated material handeling system, Omni Miser pushes material through machine at 51 in./sec and prints part ID's and other information. Wood processing system downloads optimized component cutting and marking lists from design office, selects raw stock from magazines or bunk feeder, and dispenses it to saw. Product, with servo-controlled gripper and pneumatic gripper/pusher, confirms length of material selected is long enough to produce intended components.

Original Press Release:

Omni Miser

Finally...a computer controlled single bladed saw that can process virtually any component your truss designers can dream up!... A single bladed linear fed saw that's capable of pushing material through the machine at the unheard of rate of fifty-one inches a second. A saw that can print part ID's and other pertinent information. A saw that's truly capable of optimizing . Best of all, its fed by a TOTALLY AUTOMATED MATERIAL HANDLING SYSTEM!!!!

It's called the Omni Miser.

The Miser is no "Johnny Come Lately", no "flash in the pan", no "I wonder if that will work". It's a wood processing system that we've had in design, development, testing, and actual field production for several years. It wasn't just conceived in time to have something new and exciting for the show!

You've doubtless heard of or read about our first single-bladed automated saw, the Mini Miser, used in the wall frame and panel industry. It's the most automated and productive wood processing system that the industry has ever seen. It's an essential part of the nations largest panel and home producers component production process. The Miser does everything the Mini Miser does and MORE!

Here's how it works. Optimized component cutting and marking lists are downloaded from the design office directly to the Miser. The machine selects the raw stock from a series of magazines or a bunk feeder and dispenses it to the saw. The saw loads itself and advances the material toward the blade while confirming that the length of material selected is in fact long enough to produce the intended components.

As the stock is being cut, the parts are being identified with ID numbers, part types, stud or truss locations, assembly points, and company names, or virtually any other printing the user deems necessary! The preceding can be ink jet printed on up to three surfaces of the material.

The versatility of cutting is unprecedented! Long scarf's, off center webs (different on either end if necessary), any size of 2x-dimension stock, and super short components are all possible.

This last item, including parts as short as six inches, is accomplished with a servo-controlled gripper that operates only in the immediate vicinity of the saw. Instead of short parts dropping into the machines scrap system, as is common on other such saws, the parts are handed off to the discharge rollers and ejected onto an exiting parts conveyor system right along with other finished components.

Accuracy is not compromised by the use of a pinch roller feed system common on other saws. The Miser uses a pneumatic gripper/pusher to advance and control the material precisely. Nothing is as accurate! The systems we use have already been proven in the Mini for several years.

We're in the process of producing a video that will demonstrate the new OMNI MISER'S incredible abilities. If you'd like a copy when it's ready, let us know - just call us at (888) 261-0519 or e-mail us at lindar@omnisaw.com

Even if you're not currently in a position to be buying a new saw I strongly urge you to at least stay abreast by requesting a video. Things are changing rapidly now and, believe me, you can't afford to look the other way.
