SiliconSystems Expands its Patent Portfolio by Adding New Patent for its Industry-Leading PowerArmor Technology

Patent Grant Adds to Company's Intellectual Property Portfolio of More Than 30 Patent Conceptions

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., June 27, 2007 -SiliconSystems, Inc., a world leader in advanced storage technology, today announced that it has received an additional patent for its industry-leading PowerArmor advanced voltage detection and regulation technology. SiliconSystems' continued dedication to enhancing its technology leadership position and creating innovative storage technologies has resulted in the company amassing a patent portfolio of over 30 patents and patent conceptions.

The latest PowerArmor patent covers the technology's expanded functionality, which ensures data integrity and data protection from power anomalies and low operating voltage situations in applications that have migrated to faster host system interfaces. Enhanced PowerArmor is integrated into SiliconSystems' next-generation SiliconDrive platform to deliver the high performance, high reliability and multi-year product lifecycles required by OEMs.

PowerArmor is the only storage technology available in the industry today that is field proven to protect critical operating system files and application data from drive corruption due to power disturbances. By integrating proprietary voltage detection circuitry and logic into every SiliconDrive product, SiliconSystems eliminates the number one cause of storage system field failures and reduces maintenance, warranty and other costs associated with unscheduled downtime.

"Every day OEM system designers are faced with a reliability versus performance design trade-off as applications transition to faster host system interfaces with small form factor and low power requirements," said Michael Hajeck, CEO at SiliconSystems. "These design trends make our PowerArmor technology more valuable than ever, and is one of many reasons why more and more industry-leading OEMs are making SiliconSystems' SiliconDrive technology their preferred storage choice."

In addition to its own internally developed and rapidly expanding patent portfolio, SiliconSystems is one of only a few companies in the world that has entered into a technology licensing agreement with SanDisk Corporation, the world's leading supplier of flash data storage products.
