Silicone Rubber Sealants suit high-volume manufacturing.

Press Release Summary:

Loctite® 5210 and Loctite® 5211 non-corrosive sealants are used for wire tacking, selective sealing, vibration dampening, and repair/rework applications on PCBs. Thixotropic, moisture curing Loctite® 5210 lets product conform to applied components while remaining where dispensed. Medium viscosity Loctite® 5211 allows material to flow into applied areas and encapsulates leads and wire bonds. Products withstand temperature ranges from -40 to +200°C.

Henkel Electronics Announces Market Availability of Loctite® 5210 and 5211

New Sealants Ideal for High-Volume Manufacturing; Extremely Tolerant in Harsh Environments

Henkel Electronics today announced the market availability of two new, ultra fast moisture cure, non-corrosive sealants for the electronics market. Loctite® 5210 and Loctite® 5211 are used for wire tacking, selective sealing, vibration dampening, and repair/rework applications on printed circuit boards. Both materials are ideally suited for high-volume manufacturing and are particularly effective for automotive electronic applications or other harsh environments.

Based on silicone rubber technology, Loctite® 5210 is a thixotropic, moisture curing silicone sealant with controlled flow that allows the product to conform to applied components while remaining where dispensed, thus ensuring processing ease. Also based on silicone rubber technology, Loctite®5211 is a medium viscosity material that permits the product to flow into applied areas and encapsulate leads and wire bonds. The inherent rapid moisture cure mechanism of both products improves throughput by allowing users to tack the material within minutes and proceed to subsequent processes. These products are intended for all types of electronic devices that require rapid, room temperature curing processes and will withstand temperature ranges from -40C to +200C.

Unique benefits of Loctite® 5210 and Loctite® 5211 include tack free moisture cure in five minutes, non-corrosive cure byproducts designed for electronics, and a fluorescent dye that allows for online inspection and the assurance of proper and complete application. Further, these materials provide high bond strength that ensures proper sealing over the life of the device, superior resilience and excellent thermal cycling resistance.
