Rocky Hill, Conn. - February 7, 2002....Loctite Corporation has expanded its existing line of automotive cured-in-place silicone gasketing materials to include Loctite® 5970, a fluid resistant formulation that is ideal for flange sealing applications with excessive joint movement, such as timing covers and oil sumps.

Loctite® 5970 is a black, single-component, alkoxy RTV silicone paste currently being used in various applications by Mercedes Benz and other automotive OEM manufacturers. The material is highly resistant to liquid coolants, oil, and other automotive engine fluids. Non-slumping and non-corrosive, Loctite 5970 is a low odor, low volatility material which does not contain MEKO (methylethylketoxime).
