New Signal Conditioning Modules



CLEVELAND, OH- July 2004-IOtech, Inc. has introduced three new modules to its extensive line of signal conditioning options. The addition of the DBK55(TM), an 8-channel frequency module, the DBK65(TM), an 8-channel transducer interface module, and the DBK85(TM), a 16-channel differential voltage input module, provide data acquisition users with even more signal conditioning capabilities.

DBK55
This frequency-input module provides IOtech's data acquisition systems with eight channels of frequency-measurement capability. The module measures the input signal's frequency and converts the frequency to voltage, which can then be measured by the data acquisition system.

The DBK55 is particularly useful for making RPM measurements in applications such as automotive testing or the monitoring of flow meters. As many as 32 modules can be connected to one data acquisition system for a total of up to 256 channels and accepts low- and high-level analog signals, as well as digital.

The new DBK55 is compatible with IOtech's DaqBoard/2000(TM) Series, DaqBook®, DaqLab(TM), DaqScan(TM), and LogBook(TM) products.

DBK65
The DBK65 provides 8 channels of transducer interface capability, making it easy to connect 2-, 3-, 4-, and 6-wire transducers. Convenient removable screw-terminal connects, one per channel, make attaching and removing transducers quick and easy.

This module is ideally suited for 4 to 20 mA transducer outputs, 3-wire string pots, 4-wire bridge-based transducers, and 6-wire bridge-based transducers with internal shunt cal. Each channel can be setup for a different excitation voltage, with 5, 10, 15, and 24V provided by the internal power supply. A custom voltage source between 5 and 20V can be done with a user-supplied resistor.

The DBK65 is compatible with IOtech's DaqBoard/2000 Series, DaqBook®, DaqLab, DaqScan, LogBook, WaveBook(TM), and ZonicBook(TM) products.

DBK85
The DBK85 provides 16 channels of differential voltage input. It has a single, unity-gain input stage on all channels. When coupled with the A/D's on-board x1 through x64 programmable input gains, the combination provides full-scale input ranges from ±10V down to ±156 mV.

The module's ultra-low noise, high-speed design allows users to expand their input channels up to 256 channels without sacrificing measurement integrity.

The DBK85 is compatible with IOtech's DaqBoard/2000 Series, DaqBook, DaqLab, DaqScan, and LogBook products.
