Signal Conditioners handle hundreds of I/O combinations.

Press Release Summary:

WAVEANALOG is available in three models, all providing 0 to 10 Vdc, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA output signals. Pro DC-DC takes inputs between 20 mV to 200 Vac bipolar for voltage and 0.1 to 100 mA bipolar for current. Pro RTD field configurable signal conditioner takes PT100/2/3/4-wire RTDs, Ni 100, and potentiometer inputs. Pro Thermo takes thermocouple types K, J, T, E, N, R, S, and B inputs. Free WAVETOOL software for all three provides set-up and calibration.

Original Press Release:

Weidmuller's WAVEANALOG Pro Field Configurable Signal Conditioners Provide Users Greater Flexibility

CHICAGO (March 18, 2002) - Stocking signal conditioners for each individual input signal type can be expensive. Weidmuller has the solution--three new WAVEANALOG Pro modules that provide maximum flexibility and efficiency for users' signal conditioning needs.

The WAVEANALOG Pro DC-DC allows configuration of over 440 different input/output combinations. The input can be current or voltage between 20 mV to 200 Vac bipolar for voltage and 0.1 to 100 mA bipolar for current inputs and convert these inputs into 0...10 Vdc, 0...20 mA, or 4...20 mA output signals. With this wide range, it is necessary to stock only one product to handle most analog DC-to-DC signal conversion needs.

The module can be powered using 20 to 230 Vac or Vdc--designed so that in most cases a DC power supply is not necessary to power this signal conditioner-saving on space and cost. The WAVEANALOG Pro DC-DC is three port isolated. A switchable filter provides bandwidth settings of 10 Hz or 10kHz.

The WAVEANALOG Pro RTD provides a field configurable signal conditioner that can utilize PT100/2/3/4-wire RTDs, Ni 100, Potentiometer inputs and convert these inputs into a configurable 0...10 Vdc, 0...20 mA, or 4...20 mA output signals. The WAVEANALOG Pro RTD is also three port isolated to provide error free operation. Switch selectable response times provide a choice of fast or slower response to input signals.

The WAVEANALOG Pro Thermo provides a field configurable signal conditioner that can utilize thermocouple types K, J, T, E, N, R, S, and B inputs and convert these inputs in to 0...10 Vdc, 0...20 mA, or 4...20 mA output signals. Cold junction compensation is standard to minimize measurement error. The WAVEANALOG Pro Thermo is also three port isolated to provide error free operation. Switch selectable response times provide a choice of fast or slower response to input signals.

All WAVEANALOG Pro modules are offered with a choice of screw-type or tension clamp technology. Pluggable connectors make installation and maintenance easy--the modules simply plug onto TS 35 DIN-rails. Wires with a nominal cross-section of up to 14 AWG can easily be connected.

Weidmuller offers free WAVETOOL software for all three types of signal conditioners to provide detailed set-up and calibration instructions. Simply enter your input and output ranges and a printable instruction set is provided. This free software can be downloaded from www.weidmuller.com.

List prices for the WAVEPRO programmable signal conditioners start at $160.00.
