New Fast Sensor Signal Conditioners for Automotive Pressure Sensing Applications from Servoflo Corporation
Servoflo is pleased to announce a new integrated circuit from ZMD. The ZMD31150 is a highly accurate, fast CMOS integrated circuit for amplification and correction of resistive bridge type sensors. It digitally compensates offset, sensitivity, temperature drift and non-linearity through a 16-bit RISC microcontroller running a correction algorithm.
The ZMD31150 accommodates virtually all resistive bridge sensor types such as piezo-resistive, metal thin film, and ceramic-thick film. Measured values are output as either analog voltage or via one of the digital interfaces, ZACwire(TM) or I²C.
Calibration on the ZMD311050 is controlled by a simple PC-controlled procedure which programs a set of calibration coefficients into the EEPROM chip. The specific sensor and ZMD31150 are mated digitally. Costly overhead associated with trimming components are eliminated with this fast and precise calibration procedure.
Additional features of the ZMD31150 include a selectable temperature compensation reference, sensor biasing by voltage or constant current, a sampling rate of up to 7.8 khZ, high voltage protection, reverse polarity and short circuit protection, and a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +150°C.
All ZMD sensor signal conditioning ICs offered by ZMD are factory supported. Development kits containing USB interface PCB boards, software, evaluation samples and documentation and mass calibration support tools are available.
