WAVEANALOG Pro Bridge, Bridge Measuring Conditioner Added to Weidmuller's WAVESERIES Line
RICHMOND (October 2, 2002) - Weidmuller announces the introduction of WAVEANALOG Pro Bridge, a signal conditioner for measuring bridge signals used to power and convert inputs bridge transducers. Bridges or strain-gages are commonly used to measure weights or forces. The use of the WAVEANALOG Pro Bridge can eliminate the need for an expensive PLC or DCS module by providing the bridge excitation voltage and also converting the milli-volt bridge output to a standard voltage or current signal which can be easily used by the control system.
As one of the newest additions to the WAVESERIES signal conditioner line, the Pro Bridge utilizes screw or tension clamp connection technology. Pluggable connectors allow easy, quick installation and maintenance while its slim design (17.5mm) allows higher density in panel construction. With DIP-switch selectable bridge excitation voltages, this signal conditioner allows uni- or bipolar voltage inputs from 0...10mV to -500...500mV, and provides a choice of outputs of 0...5V, 0...10V to 0...20mA, or 4...20mA. The power supply of 18-30 Vdc for this signal conditioner is cross-connectable to adjacent modules to eliminate redundant wiring.
The WAVEANALOG Pro Bridge is ideal for machinery utilizing load cells, which are commonly used in chemical processing and mixing operations, food industries, and metal process equipment. Other applications include robotics and machinery where large loads are weighed before processing on CNCs or other equipment.
