Sigma to Add Davis-Standard Stretch Film Line to Shelbyville Plant

(Bridgewater, N.J.) - Leading U.S. stretch film producer Sigma Stretch Film recently purchased a blown film line from Davis-Standard, LLC for the company's facility in Shelbyville, Ky. The three-layer production line will support Sigma's growing business, and is similar to a line purchased in 2008. It is slated for a mid-2011 installation. All machine modules will be pre-wired, requiring only primary power drops and communication cables, to reduce installation time and cost.

"We've been very pleased with the Davis-Standard line we installed in the Tulsa (Oklahoma) plant in 2009," said Per Nylen, executive vice president of Sigma Stretch Film. "Davis-Standard has enabled us to advance our machinery technology to support new markets and defend our leading position. They have done a very good job of addressing our needs and we are pleased with the depth of their machinery capabilities in both blown and cast film."

Sigma Stretch Film is a division of The Sigma Plastics Group. The company was founded in 1978 and continues to be the largest, privately held film extrusion group in the United States.
