Sierra Wireless AirCard® 597E ExpressCard Now Available in Canada from TELUS


New, smaller form factor designed for ExpressCard slots delivers TELUS' wireless high-speed wireless access and is self-installing for easier setup

VANCOUVER, Nov. 15 -- Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR -)(NASDAQ:TSX:)(NASDAQ:SW) today announced that the AirCard® 597E ExpressCard is now available from TELUS, offering access to TELUS' wireless high speed EVDO Rev A service. Designed to provide mobile broadband connectivity to newer notebooks computers equipped with ExpressCard slots, the AirCard 597E is available through TELUS' business and retail sales channels, and online at www.telusmobility.com.

TELUS is the first globally to launch the AirCard 597E with TRU-Install(TM), which significantly improves the out-of-the-box user experience. With TRU-Install, no installation CD is required - software and drivers are installed automatically when the card is plugged into the notebook for the first time.

AirCard 597E ExpressCard
o Transfers data wirelessly at speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps on the downlink
and 1.8 Mbps on the uplink, using the latest EVDO Rev A technology
for the fastest mobile data access across the country. EVDO is
available to seventy-five per cent of Canadians.

o Provides mobile broadband access for notebook computers with
ExpressCard/34 and ExpressCard/54 slots

o Supports Location Based Services, with a built-in GPS antenna for
third party application development

o Features a high-performance, durable antenna optimized for signal
acquisition and speed, as well as a connector for an optional
external antenna to improve performance in fringe areas or more
demanding user conditions
