Siemens ICN: Making the Most of Optical Networks and Cut Costs

At C5 World Forum in Milan, Italy, Siemens Networks will report on strategies which help to make the most out optical networks with remotely reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexer (ROADM).

With ROADMs, carriers can switch wavelengths, within a DWDM network. Not only does this increases the network's flexibility and overall reliability, but also reduces delivery time of services and helps cut costs significantly. Therefore DWDM systems with ROADM are in the focus of current transport infrastructures.

During the presentation it will be explained what the inherent advantages of the ROADM functionality are and what necessary network features are needed in combination with ROADM to harness the full potential for automated service creation and resilience in a DWDM network.

The presentation will be held on March 28 at 2 p.m.
