Siemens' Chem-Ad XL Series Diaphragm Metering Pumps Offers Sophisticated Controls with Chemical Feed Performance Monitoring
Warrendale, Pa., June 1, 2006 -- Siemens Water Technologies, incorporating USFilter, has introduced new automatically controlled arrangements of its Wallace & Tiernan Chem-Ad Series diaphragm metering pumps: the Chem-Ad XL Model E60 and Model E60 Plus. Water Technologies is a division of Siemens' Industrial Solutions and Services (I&S) Group.
According to Manor Parikh, Siemens' liquid feed product and technology manager, the XL series of diaphragm pumps provides chemical feed monitoring, controls and display with intelligent controls interface. XL models provide a high degree of feed reliability with precision, performance validation and seamless interface with control systems. In addition, the series XL models further enhance Siemens' ability to offer total customer solutions with tamper-proof controls, password protection and capacity display.
Configurable operating menus are available both in local control and automatic control. In local mode, the operator can set strokes per minute, percent of stroke and choice of capacity display in gallons or liters per hour. For automatic external control, the XL series accepts a pulse, mA input signal and batch operation.
Input signal can be easily scaled or inverted to suite process requirements. A pre-set quantity can also be metered in batch mode operation. Pump outputs include low level monitoring of the supply, stroke signal, flow monitoring and pump operation.
The E60 Plus automatic version includes all the features of the E60 model in addition to an intelligent snap-on control package and Oval Gear Meter (OGM), to provide set point control capabilities, chemical consumption data log for record of total usage, real time feed rate display and plug and play with calibration data source on the OGM.
The Chem-Ad XL Model E60 and Model E60 Plus liquid chemical feed systems are part of the Wallace & Tiernan product line from Siemens.
