Side-Flexing Chains stay flat and level on curves.

Press Release Summary:

LPC® 1050 and LPC® 1055 TableTop® chains have low pin centerline design (LPC) that eliminates product tippage on multi-strand conveyors, without need for magnetic corner tracks. Pitch length and top plate thickness resist chipping and breaking via LPC corner retention technology, and chains can be lifted up anywhere in carry track for cleaning and maintenance. Offered in 0.34 and 0.50 in. flight thicknesses, chains come in PS(TM) wear-resistant material as well as HP(TM).

Rexnord Announces Ultimate Side-Flexing TableTop® Chains

GRAFTON, Wisconsin-October 20 2005...New Rex® LPC® 1050 and LPC® TableTop® side-flexing chains from Rexnord Industries, Inc. stay flat and level in the curves, unlike conventional beveled and TAB chain designs, which lift up on the outer edges. The patented LPC (Low Pin Centerline) design eliminates product tippage, especially on multi-strand conveyors, without the extra cost of magnetic corner tracks.

The new chains combine short pitch and thick top plates that resist chipping and breaking with the unique LPC corner retention technology. The chains can be lifted up anywhere in the carry track for easy cleaning and maintenance. All of the 1050/1055 chains run on standard 7700 series MatTop® sprockets.

Two flight thicknesses, 0.34" (8.7mm) and 0.50" (12.7mm) are available for direct side transfer onto the two most popular MatTop chains (8500 and 7700). They are offered in PS(TM) wear-resistant material as well as HP(TM), which is made of a patented resin specially formulated for the food and beverage industries.

How it Works
In the LPC design, a force applied to the corner track through the centerline of the pin occurs below the opposing force applied to the chain through the centerline of the corner track. This causes the chain to remain flat and level in the corner track. In conventional chain, the force through the centerline of the pin occurs above the centerline of the corner track force, which causes the chain to lift out of the corner track.
