Shrink Film Solves Outdoor Storage Problem
Saves time and money and improves image for metal fabricator
Braintree, MA - October 21, 2008 - A well-respected automotive metal fabricator needed a solution to comply with governmental regulations regarding rust and oil-soiled water runoff from their outdoor-stored dies into nearby wetlands. In addition, they needed a strategy to protect their stored assets. When corrosion is stripped off a die in preparation for work, metal is lost. That creates a loss of definition and strength. At some point, the worn die would need to be replaced - an unwelcome expenditure.
Outdoor storage garages may have helped, but the expense was too great. Instead, they made the decision to shrink wrap all their 1000 dies in Intercept(TM)Shrink Film. Now, as dies are needed they are opened (the used Intercept Shrink Film can be tossed into the polyethylene waste stream), prepared in a lot less time, utilized, and are packaged in the Intercept Shrink Film and placed for long-term, outdoor protection. Problem solved.
An added benefit is that before managers, employees, neighbors and visiting customers would see rusting, corroding metal equipment wasting away in outdoor storage areas. (The problem does not occur with just metal; plastic and rubber degrades also, becoming brittle with atmospheric exposure and easily accumulating dirt and stains.) Now all the outdoor stored items are wrapped in neatly white plastics packages making for a much better company appearance.
Intercept Shrink Film is a multi-structured film with UV and moisture barrier built in and the Intercept inside layer, which provides a corrosive gas barrier.
